Privacy policy

PCOS Tracker is a personal health diary. You do not need to create an account with us.

Erised Development Ltd is the provider of PCOS Tracker: Symptom Log. Contact us at hello@erised.io for privacy questions.

Your records

The app stores the symptoms, severity ratings, period and spotting entries, dates, notes and lab results you enter in its on-device database. Appointment questions and preferences are stored locally. These records are used to display your history, calculate summaries and generate exports. We do not operate a server that receives your diary or lab results.

Optional Apple integrations

Apple Health: only after you enable the integration and choose permissions, the app reads supported cycle and symptom records from Health and writes supported entries you log. Notes, custom symptom names, appointment questions and lab results are not sent to Health. Editing a record imported from another app changes the copy in PCOS Tracker, not the original in Health. Manage permissions and original records in Apple Health. Apple's own Health backup and sync settings are controlled separately by Apple.

Earlier iCloud sync: the current release does not directly sync diary records through CloudKit. Earlier development versions offered optional iCloud sync. Locally downloaded records are retained when updating; previously uploaded copies are not automatically deleted. Apple controls those copies and device backup settings. We cannot access or erase your private CloudKit records.

Purchases and reminders

Apple processes purchases. The app checks Apple-signed transactions to determine Plus access; we do not receive your payment card details. Apple may make sales and financial reports available to us. Optional reminders are scheduled locally through Apple's notification system. No advertising or third-party analytics SDK is included, and we do not track you across other apps or sell your health records.

Manual backups and exports

Free backup and restore uses a versioned JSON file containing current diary entries, lab results, appointment questions and hidden custom symptom preferences. Backups are manual, not automatic, and are not encrypted by the app. You choose a destination with the system file picker. Keep a secure copy separate from your phone if you want protection against losing it. Restore adds missing records without overwriting existing records; restored entries are not written to Apple Health. Permissions, subscriptions and notification preferences are not restored. Deleted diary entries are excluded from new backups, but older files can still contain them. PDF and CSV reports are generated on your device. You decide whether and where to send them using the system share sheet. Export files can contain sensitive health information. Copies saved to Files, email or another service are governed by the destination's settings and policies. Temporary export copies may remain in the app's temporary storage until cleaned up by the app or operating system.

Deletion and retention

Records remain available until you delete them or remove the app's data. In the current implementation, deleting a log hides it from the diary and exports, but retains an internal deletion marker that can still contain the original record fields. This prevents Health imports from restoring deleted entries. It is not a complete erasure of the underlying record. Lab deletions remove the lab record from the app database; backups and previously exported copies may remain.

Removing this app does not cancel subscriptions or remove records in Apple Health, iCloud, device backups or exported files. Manage those copies separately in the relevant Apple settings or destination service. Contact us if you need help locating these controls; we cannot remotely access or erase your on-device diary.
